The third and final LLRN summer online seminar on ‘The right to strike at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights’ will take place on – 28 June 2022 (CEST/Berlin/Rome/Stockholm 4pm – 5.30pm).

We welcome labour lawyers from any and every country to join and offer their perspectives.

The findings of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the right to strike have been described as a ‘breath of fresh air’, articulating the binding quality of international human rights treaties, ILO international labour standards, and the interpretation of these standards by specialised bodies (see https://publicservices.international/resources/news/iachr-advisory-opini...).

This seminar will be devoted to discussion of findings in the Advisory Opinion on May 2021 (https://corteidh.or.cr/comunicados_prensa.cfm?lang=en&n=726) and the 2022 judgment in Extrabajadores del Organismo Judicial vs. Guatemala (discussed at https://www.solidaritycenter.org/americas-human-rights-court-rules-worke...).
Chaired by Franz Christian Ebert, this session’s speakers will include: Janice Bellace (US), Ricardo Buendia (Chile), Julieta Lobato (Argentina) and Klaus Lörcher (Germany).
