On November 20, 2023 (3.30pm, CET) the University of Groningen (The Netherlands) will host the seminar "How Artificial Intelligence Fosters Global Inequalities: A Four-Country Study on Data Work". Prof. Antonio A. Casilli (Institute Polytechnique de Paris) will give a keynote lecture presenting his study conducted with the DiPiLab between 2020-2023 in Venezuela, Madagascar, Brazil and France. A multidisciplinary panel will follow (program attached).
The discussion will focus on how the AI revolution beyond the work of engineers and data scientists still perpetuates a great deal of crowdwork, often outsourced to Global South countries.
